Hello I'm Mel Mitchell.
My background is in dairy farming and being a farmers daughter, this seemed a natural career for me so I went to Harper Adams University College to study a degree in it. I've been involved in farming in one capacity or another for 15 plus years but decided it was time for me to hang my wellies up.
I have always loved taking part in sport and kept an active lifestyle. I started running, enjoying the challenge of completing a few of the race for life 5km and the odd 10km. In 2014 I joined the Dorset Doddlers running club with the view to running my first half marathon. This is where my true passion for running began. Being among fellow runners both in the club and at races gives me a huge buzz and never fails to put a smile on my face. I decided to put this passion into practice and in 2016 I decided to start making the move into the fitness industry. The club gave me the opportunity to attend a course in leadership in running fitness which I used to help run the clubs beginner group. In 2017 I was lucky enough to be offered the opportunity to work in my local gym Sturfit so I went on to gain a Level 2 Certificate in Gym (Fitness) Instructing. I also became interested in sports massage. From having massages on a monthly basis and knowing how beneficial it is, I too wanted to help, not only fellow athletes but also those with everyday aches and pains. I went on to gain a Level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy, shortly followed by Level 4. Keen to expand my knowledge, I then went on to study my BTEC Level 5 in Soft Tissue Therapy with the London School of Massage. I am keen to continually expand my knowledge, attend workshops and courses to provide my clients with the best possible care.
